Headline: Comunal FAMOUSLY FAST at THE ROCK
Dean Comunal took his Screamin’ Eagle Top Fueler to a new orbit this weekend at the AHDRA Screamin’ Eagle Performance Parts Nationals at Rockingham Dragway in the Piedmont of NC.
Comunal qualified 5th out of 18 international Screamin’ Eagle Top Fuel competitors. Comunal continued the good part of the weekend by running his personal best ET in qualifying with a 6.38ET and running a fast 211.59 mph.
But weekends at the races can turn in a flash or the smoke of a tire. Comunal lost in the first round, but made several more strong exhibition passes on Sunday.
Comunal, “Were we pleased with this weekend? Sure, Carl and Jenn are taking more and more responsibility. Carl Lovero, Roosevelt,NJ, as Crew Chief and clutch man and reading the computer and Jennifer Ward Computer/Data/Weather & Track Conditions and taking over some of the fuel issues, we’re really coming together as a team and looking forward to 2008.”
“Our sponsors, well, we’re still looking for some product support for’08, but my staff at Pat and Red’s hold down the fort while I get to travel and race. It doesn’t get much better than that.”

Headline: Llewellyn Flies DynoJet to Vegas
NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle championship contender Peggy Llewellyn will carry new associate sponsor DynoJet Research into the ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. "I'm really happy with the deal," said Robert Vlcek, president of DynoJet Research Incorporated. "This is a win-win partnership for us both. Our products will help them in the further development of their engine program. They've proven that they know what to do with the right tools and will be excellent representatives for DynoJet Research."
"I'm excited about DynoJet coming on board in time for Vegas and the Countdown to One," said Llewellyn. "Their products lead the field and we look forward to carrying their name into the winners circle."
"We welcome DynoJet aboard for the remainder of 2007 and all of 2008," said team owner Karl Klement. "Our priority for next year is to develop new engines and make more horsepower, and this partnership gives us the opportunity to do more and better research to reach our goals."
The Vegas race is the first of two events to determine the champions in each of the four professional classes in the POWERade series, and first year racer Llewellyn is one of only four contenders for the Pro Stock Motorcycle crown. Peggy and the team earned their spot in the Countdown by dramatically winning the last race in Dallas. "I celebrated for a week and went out to dinner a lot," laughed the personable and photogenic Llewellyn. "My dad had me up at his motorcycle shop meeting with his customers and posing for pictures with my trophy. He said people were calling and coming by before the shop even opened Monday morning after the win!
"I did a couple of interviews, then I went back to my normal routine of working out five days a week, updating my website, and going through fan mail. Now it's back to packing up and racing."
It can't be overstated what an achievement it is for this team, in Llewellyn's first full year on the tour and Klement's first year as an owner, to be winners and championship contenders with only two races left in the season. Llewellyn, who's previously only been to the Las Vegas track as a spectator, is now the show. "Everything is so new and exciting," said Peggy, who seems to be calm under the increased pressure of her success.
If that success carries her into the Vegas winners circle, DynoJet president Vlcek will be there with her. The developer of chassis dynamometers, carburetor recalibration kits, and fuel injection enhancement systems is conveniently based in Las Vegas. Their brands and products, including DynoJet, Power Commander, and Dynatek, are ubiquitous in the motorcycle, automotive and powersports performance communities.
"The next couple of weeks should be really exciting," finished Klement. "This is a huge opportunity for all of our marketing partners."
